The Saint George Chamber Orchestra celebrates the 25th anniversary this year. Together with Srba Dinic, their chief conductor, they will open the festive year with a concert in Villach, Austria. Performing soloists will be the violinist Orfej Simic and pianist Maja Kastratovic with Mendelssohn’s Concerto for Violin, Piano and Strings. The programme will include Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony Op 110a and Barber’s Adagio. Cartoon by Zoran Eric, a modern Serbian composer, will also be performed. This is the most popular Eric’s composition and, in his words, it represents movable images for 13 strings and a harpsichord. At the concert in Villach Congress Hall the Austrian audience will hear some of the compositions from the Orchestra’s wide repertoire of classical and modern music. The continuation of the season will see more concerts with Srba Dinic, famous soloists and premiere performances.
