Soloists, choir and orchestra of Braunschweig Theatre will gather once again, this time to perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 – “Resurrection”. In contrastto very successful production of opera Don Carlos that is at the moment played with great success, the audience will now have the opportunity to see the ensemble from totally different perspective. In first three movements of “Resurrection”the orchestra will try to unveil its mystic and transparent colors, while in fourth and fifth movement, supported by soloists Jelena Banković and Jelena Kordić with the choir, a lot of emotional tension is needed from the musicians to illustrate death and resurrection itself. This is one of many Mahler’s symphonies at repertoire of Srba Dinić. It is known as the most popular Mahler’s piece and enriched with Dinić’s deep understanding of Mahler’s work and experience insetting the music on stage, there is no doubt that the audience will feel empoweredto experience composer’s intention to celebrate the beauty and hope in life after death.
