After the season which saw a number of successful opera and ballet premiers, the Bellas Artes will perform Missasolemnis in D major, Op. 123, a piece which has a special place in Beethoven’s opus. This is the second mass by Beethoven (the first one in C major, Op. 86) and although it is dedicated to the Archbishop of Austria Rudolf Reiner, it is believed to be the expression of Beethoven’s deepest spiritual feelings. SrbaDinic with the Bellas Artes choir and orchestra will present to the audience this highly complex piece in all its beauty in view of religious value, personal Beethoven’s feelings and high level of score interpretation. He wrote it for six years and being a serious challenge for the performers it can but rarely be seen on concert repertoires, and even rarer in churches.

Inspired by the dedication of the piece “May that what comes from a heart reach hearts” (“VomHerzen, mögeeswieder, zuHerzengehen!”) SrbaDinic and Bellas Artes ensemble will convey this message in the language of Beethoven’ssublime interpretative style.
