The Mexico University Choir is celebrating its 10th anniversary and for this occasion it is preparing a grand performance of Verdi’s Requiem, one of the most popular compositions in vocal-instrumental literature. Since this is its first anniversary celebration the University Choir is devoting special attention to it – it will be joined by Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by the baton in the hand of Srba Dinic. Although Verdi dedicated the Requiem to his friend, Italian poet Alessandro Manzoni, it is immersed in vicissitudes of life and yearning towards sublime life even after death. The emotions of happiness and sorrow present in the participants and deep knowledge of Verdi’s opus that the conductor possesses herald the ceremony which the choir deserves.
